The most recent Macbook, the 12 inch Macbook with retina no longer sport the illumnated  logo.
If the decision of keeping or taking away this iconic illuminated  logo rest solely with you, what would you do?

Some things should never be changed... Hope this is just a one time affair...

I was actually a bit disappointed that they nixed the glowing Apple logo on the new Macbook. I really feel that the new Macbook is an offspring of an ipad and macbook air.

It's one of their trademarks, so they should keep it. I hope that they bring it back on the 2nd gen of the new macbook.

Like car neon underglows of the 90s, they won't make the Mac work any better with or without it. I won't be sorry to see them go.

The removal of the glowing Apple logo is a turn off. Pun intended.

Maybe the reason it was removed is because of the complications of making the macbook super thin. It's one of Apple's design I just don't agree.

OT: what is the use of producing thinner and thinner devices if you will keep on removing ports and feautures? just my 2 cents

Its presence weakens the strength of the aluminum topcase and its ability to protect the LCD

Im feeling indiferrent to the case of Apple removing the glowing logo. I couldn't care less if they removed it or not because half the time the glowing apple logo is facing away from you.

I know that it's been their feature since time immemorial, but probably Apple weighed the pros and cons and it turned out, the removal of the glowing logo will be tantamount to the improvement of the design and slimness of this new macbook.

I am at awe at the design of the new MacBook but I wonder how they were able to put individual LEDs on the keyboard keys and they were not able to put an LED on the logo. Could they just make the logo out of luminous material so that it only lights up in the dark??

The current glowing  is not lit by additional LEDs but by the LED backlight of the LCD panel.

I personally think it is a refreshing change. More muted more discreet. It doesn't shout, "HEY LOOK GUYS! I'M A APPLE USER!" anymore. Not everyone likes the attention.

not much of a loss really; its an aesthetic, its not functional. its like the tail that we used to have.
