How can I upgrade to El Capitan without MacStore?

    I went to power mac moa just to have my mba updated to el capitan, I paid 1800 pesos for their service.

    ^ 1800 for upgrading to El Cap?! I could have done it for a bag of chips (with dips of course). :D

    1800 for a free upgrade is absolutely insane.

    oh wow wtf that's batshit crazy. 200-500 pesos for a minimal "service fee" i can understand. but 1800?! these powermac stories just keeps on confirming what we already know.

    but it was a good service, i was in a hurry so i had no choice. it only took them 30mins to finish the upgrade. so everything in my mea is really fresh. i have a question though, i activated my iPhone's hotspot feature and it has password but when i connect my mea, it did not asked for password and i was at moa, somebody also with apple product was able to connect, but when connected my android device, it asked for the password.

    having this error

    "OS X El Capitan failed to download

    Use the Purchases pages to try again."

    can anyone help me figure this out?

    ^ May be its your internet connection getting disconnected that's why you're download fails. Alternatively, you can ask someone who has a backup of El Capitan installer for a copy.

    I didnt know it was even legal for powermac to charge you for what apple deems as a free upgrade... wow p1,800 for something that's free, so these things really do happen, and people really buy into these schemes
