Oplayer HD is OK, but for MKV videos, I have to get MKV converter by ifunia from the Mac App Store to do a complement, and thanks to its help, so far very smoothly.
yes, what with all the customizable shortcuts, info & flexibility on playback & played videos - AVPlayer HD trounces Apple's iPad video player any day
nice thread, looks like im buying the AVplayer does it play mkv files and .avi files smoothly and no lags for sounds and everything? Im tired of converting files to .mov or mp4. 720p or 1080p no problems for it?
720p no problem sir. no lagging whatsoever. i am not sure about 1080p i think it will lag na. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
It does play avi and mp4 files, tried a 1080p anime mkv once and it was unwatchable, but 720p mkvs works smoothly.
try FlexPlayer... free app Supported video quality: Up to full HD quality (1920 x 1080 pixels) for QuickTime media files (mp4, mov, m4v, mph) Up to DV quality (720 x 576 pixels) for other media files (flv, mkv, wmv, avi, asf, divx, xvid, vob, …) Supported file formats: AVI, DivX, Xvid, VOB, MKV, MP4, MOV, OGM, FLV (plus many more) http://itunes.apple.com/ca/app/flexplayer/id451024857?mt=8
720p videos lag on FlexPlayer so I think AVPlayer HD is the right app for me. Thanks for the inputs, I learned a lot about the other potential apps out there that has the same features.

if i were you pick avplayerhd instead. it has good reviews. i am using it and i don't have problems with it.
Avplayer hd hands down. Been using this for months. Never had any problem at all (from watching to wireless transfer) Sent from my iPad 2 using Tapatalk
XBMC hands down.. All my HD files are in my NAS so its hassle if i have to sync it pa.. It can even play my 1080P 10+gb .m2ts files on my NAS with no problems..
i also just purchased avplayerhd and tested it first with an 8gb 1080p mkv movie... unwatchable... will try 720p one later.
There's a way of installing XBMC on iPhone/iPad so that it can access AVPlayerHD's media library. Guide is up here: http://www.shinyhacks.com/2011/10/play-hd-mkv-720p-smoothly-on-iphone-and.html#more XBMC plays 720p films really well on an iPad 1, not sure about 1080p though.
I have tried a little app called "EC Player". It shows much better performance than AVPlayerHD. checkout their video performance comparison here Glad that I can use it as my default MKV player on iPad!
funny! these guys @borisd, @mikaelrule are spammers and just trying to promote their app. Both registered today just to post this comments...
