We were planning to eat dinner at Breakfast and Pies last November 2 but it was closed. Good thing you recommended Ally's so we went there instead. We had the tapa (very good), nestle crunch crepe (yum), one of the big breakfast servings, JM is starving: scrambled eggs, hungarian sausage, waffles, bacon, rice (heavy and good), and the rellenong bangs (it's ok but not great). We plan to go back to try the different flavours of their french toast (looks good)
Had merienda at Cafe Shibuya in UP Town Center and their bread is to die for! Will be trying their version of Eggs Benedict very soon.

mmm....wow.....yummy. That's a very good-lookin' brekkie feast! Thanks for sharing......great pics too. Poached egg looks perfect (and just about ready to burst). Wha' hapen to the benny sauce (hollandaise)????? Where'd it go?????
@raypin, I espy the hollandaise sauce at the bottom of the plate (under the bacon, right side) where traditionally, it should have been poured over the English muffin and poached egg. Looks like the cafe's own take on the classic Eggs Benedict. BTW, I'm told the hollandaise is also laced with Sriracha. Maybe, it's Eggs Cumberbatch, LOL! But I agree, the dishes look yummy.
^I love eggs benedict, with or without hollandaise sauce! Actually, I can have poached egg every time. Tama na yung fried egg sunny side up!! Been reading about Breakfast and Pies a lot but I have yet to try it.
Re Breakfast and Pies, if you're planning to eat there on a weekend morning it's best to reserve a table as the place is packed on those days. Try the pies as well as the breakfast meals. The Key lime is pretty good.
mmm....key lime, too. Eggs benedict and key lime: my type of comfort foods...puwede mag foods trip. Pretty close alternative to good key lime is limone santi by Cafe Mary Grace (that with their Tsoknut drink).
Tried the breakfast table and was quite pleased with the experience. Will try to check out the rest of the suggestions here.
The Clubhouse at Robinson's Magnolia They serve egg's benedict to vigan longganisa all day, +1 for the yummy cakes and pastries. The interior is also nice, very rustic...vintage-ish.
My current fave is Hatch-22 in Power Plant Mall. A bit pricey but its the kind of place where you have brunch and you don't need to eat anything else for the rest of the day. Love their biscuits!
