    Wait. Are you trying to say that if you buy an airpod it will come with a regular case and if you want wireless charging you have to spend an additional $69!? Why!? When they are selling the current case at the same price of $69 already!? I’m disappointed since I’m planning to buy the airpower once it comes out and the airpods, thinking it will have wireless charging by default.

    maybe simply because not everyone who'll get the airpods will also get the airpower charging pad. but maybe in the next revision of the airpods, they will include the wireless charging case by default, as an added/new feature. ;)

    Perhaps it would be an upgrade option when you buy an Airpod like with increasing the RAM of a Macbook when you purchase.

    More likely built-in TBH. Future Airpods will come with the Qi-case as default and you can just take advantage of it if you have Qi-pads. Lightning port is still below it anyway.
